Wilderness

Isaiah 5:13-17
Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honorable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst. Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.

And the mean man shall be brought down, and the mighty man shall be humbled, and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled: but the LORD of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, and God that is holy shall be sanctified in righteousness. Then shall the lambs feed after their manner, and the waste places of the fat ones shall strangers eat.

Numbers 14:26-35
And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying, How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, which murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me.

Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you: your carcasses shall fall in this wilderness, and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, which have murmured against me, doubtless ye shall not come into the land, concerning which I sware to make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephun'neh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

But your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, them will I bring in, and they shall know the land which ye have despised.
But as for you, your carcasses, they shall fall in this wilderness.
And your children shall wander in the wilderness forty years, and bear your whoredoms, until your carcasses be wasted in the wilderness.

After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know my breach of promise. I the LORD have said, I will surely do it unto all this evil congregation, that are gathered together against me: in this wilderness they shall be consumed, and there they shall die.
The children of disobedience do everything in their power to arrive at the inner sanctums  of eternal hell, but after all the lies that they have cloaked themselves with fall away, and  truth is staring them in the face, for some unknown reason they began to weep and moan at the discovery of their dire predicament. Inexplicably, they begin to repent and cry loud to God for mercy from the thresholds of hell.

We find the congregation of Israel over there in hell's embrace, having brought down the judgment of God upon their head, weeping before an angry God who has disinherited them because of their unbelief and profound disobedience.

Today we find congregations that have witnessed the miracles of God, and been surrounded by the holy presence of God, yet they flounder, and are held captive by their warped sense of the diluted powers of darkness, witchery and unrivaled arrogance.

Not much has changed since Israel's bones were left in the wilderness of Sin having forfeited their divine heritage, the Promised Land of Canaan.

How many Christians are sitting in congregations in the very presence of the Lord, and are yet bound for hell with Satan's number already tattooed on their foreheads?

Living and breathing, having done dastardly deeds that have left them caught between two worlds, cut off from eternal life via God's judgment, but living and traveling fast along the pathway that leads directly to the crevices of hell's greedy mouth.

The living dead are they, having already forfeited eternal life in the presence of the Lord by following the ways of evil, their souls bowing down before Satan, hell's first inhabitant, the father of the lie.
Currently, the world is surrounded by the fires of God's anger, and his divine judgment is marching into all the hidden crevices of sin and pulling the wicked ones into the eternal fires of hell's embrace.

Where can a man hide from God and not be found? Who can keep a secret from God?
What route shall a man take to avoid the judgment of an angry God?

After judgment falls, no doubt, like Israel, a man will attempt to move God through repentance and tears, but all to no avail. When deciding to live contrary to the word of God, a man eventually brings about his own demise. It's just a matter of time before the snares of wrong thinking traps the eternal soul in the insidious vices of hell.

God gives us every opportunity to repent and align our lives with his word, but time is always ticking away, until eventually our last minute in this life arrives, or we saunter haphazardly beyond God's patience and mercy as did the Israelites.

Cloaked in foolishness, that is lacking good sense, the wicked dig their own graves with their own hands with each and every perverted decision to stray away from the will and word of God.

God is long-suffering but he is not a chump. We cannot play God. He knows every thought and intent of our hearts. There are no secrets before God. Everyone and everything is open to him. He sees our thoughts afar off, so what scam can we get past him.

That is why he is such an effective warrior on behalf of those who serve him with their whole heart; he knows what our enemies are up to at all times. Yet and still his created beings, his sons and daughters cast him behind their back and eschew his divine love demonstrated by the sacrifice of his son Jesus.
Was not the death of Jesus on the cross of affliction enough to gain our love? What more could God have done than to redeem us to himself, giving us the opportunity to live forever in his holy presence? How can we neglect so great a sacrifice?

Even in the natural if we find ourselves in peril and someone sacrifice their life to save ours we are grateful, and call them our hero and pay them homage publicly. But where is God's honor, respect, praise, worship and obedience that we owe him?
Did he not save our lives and give us a chance to obtain eternal life?

It's so easy to get caught up in this life and all the detours along the way, but this life is but a whiff of smoke compared to eternal life, and yet eternal life is often tossed up and down like a ball in the air, not really knowing whether or not it will be caught before the last minute of our lives on this earth arrives.

We play games with eternal life choosing to do wrong in the face of our conscience, which informs us of what is right and what is wrong in the eyes of God. Who is to say that in the midst of our wrong doing that our last breath may leave our bodies before we have a chance to repent and right adjust our lives with the divine will of God?

How can we hold eternal life so lightly in our hands when it is the gift of gifts from the heart of God who loves us with an everlasting love, if we but accept his love and conform our lives according to his word?

Israel murmured and complained repeatedly before God until he judged them unworthy to inherit the Promised Land, and instead they became bones in the wilderness, a testament to the arrogance involved in playing Russian roulette with God who is known for his patience and mercy towards us.

Nevertheless, Moses interceded on Israel's behalf, and instead of destroying the whole of Israel, he destroyed the parents who rebelled against him and brought their children into the promised land.

That may be the case today where a lot of church going parents will not make it to their promised land because of unbelief and disobedience, but God will cause their children to inherit the blessings in their stead!
